British born and educated, with US resident alien status, Michael Hick is a much traveled and dynamic executive educator with a lifetime of practical international business experience and know-how. He helps companies develop global mindsets, teaches managers the essential skills of negotiating, marketing, selling and servicing across cross-cultural frontiers and shows executives how to work with multi-cultural teams and create profitable global alliances.
Michael Hick's experience comes from a lifetime of international travel and in-the-trenches action in one of the toughest, competitive businesses on the planet: during 40 years in international insurance, 26 of them with Lloyd's of London, he formed and ran 12 successful corporations on 4 continents and did day-to-day business in 41 countries. Michael understands the interaction – the fast-track and the roadblocks – between Europeans and Americans, having been immersed in both cultures.
Michael has conducted over 2,000 keynote speeches, seminars and presentations to corporations, trade associations, executive groups and international societies throughout the world and has facilitated hundreds of management retreats in distant places. Adventurer, historian, traveller and story-teller he fills his presentations with good humour and lots of fun. He is the author of GLOBAL DEALS – Marketing and Managing Across Cultural Frontiers published by Skyward Publishing in 2003
