A graduate of the Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznan, Andrzej Szoszkiewicz speaks fluent English and Dutch in addition to his native Polish. Currently he is an entrepreneur, joint owner of Smartlink sc, an information services company specialized in information and consulting on EU affairs. Smartlink runs www.funduszeonline.pl website providing Polish businesses and administration with relevant information on government and EU funding schemes. Prior to this he was deputy editor-in-chief of "Businessman Magazine", the leading Polish economic magazine and before a journalist with the "Wprost" weekly.

From 1992 -1994 he lived in the Netherlands and worked as a freelance correspondent for several Polish papers and magazines. He started in the late 80s as an English teacher in one of the best secondary schools in Poznan.

Andrzej Szoszkiewicz's main interest is Poland’s membership in the European Union with a special focus on regional policy and EU institutions. He was one of the few Polish journalists who have been writing about different aspects of Poland's integration with the European Union since the very beginning of this process in the early 90s. Since then he has traveled frequently to Brussels, Strasbourg and Luxembourg to visit the European institutions and interview commissioners, MEPs, EU officials and experts. Subjects of his interviews have included Romano Prodi, Sir Christopher Patten, Franz Fischler, Mario Monti, Guenter Verheugen, Eneko Landaburu and many others. He is one of the co-founders of the Club of European Journalists and Central European Journalists Forum.

Andrzej has been closely watching the accession negotiations between Poland and the EU since they started in March 1998. He has spent many hours talking to Polish negotiators and politicians responsible for this process. The result of his observations is his book "The Way to Brussels" (published in 2000) and numerous articles. Recently he has focused on the economic side of Poland’s EU membership, especially on small-and-medium-size business and its chances of competing in the Single Market, regional policy and EU grants and their impact on Polish economy.
