A U.S. national living in Sweden, Gary R. Baker has over 25 years' business experience, much of this time at globally renowned companies. He is one of few corporate professionals who have worked on balancing cultural diversity from both profit-driven and regulatory perspectives, and has implemented diversity-based business solutions throughout most facets of company operations.

On his return to California in 1986, Gary was well positioned when the U.S. banking sector was forced by Congress in 1990 to engage in a deeper understanding of cultural diversity in credit markets. He started departments at two banks to drive culture shifts both internally and externally.

In 1996, he joined Deloitte & Touche in San Francisco to launch a new consulting practice to help financial service companies expand credit and minimise risks related to multicultural markets. His clients then included Morgan Stanley, Riggs Bank, Discover Financial Services and Tokyo's Fujitsu Research Institute.

Gary moved to Stockholm in 1999 to serve as Deloitte's Director of Marketing & Communications for Sweden. Apart from running his own consulting firm, helping companies develop strategies to penetrate non-traditional markets, particularly Europe's new immigrant groups, Gary joined PDI Scandinavia AB in April 2005 as their new Director of Business Development.

Gary Baker is fluent in Swedish and conversant in Spanish. An active speaker and trainer, he works closely with the private, public and non-profit sectors, where he has a long history of building cooperative partnerships.
