The European Environment Agency aims to support sustainable development and to help achieve significant and measurable improvement in Europe's environment through the provision of timely, targeted, relevant and reliable information to policy-making agents and the public.

In 2004 Europublic conducted two polling surveys to evaluate the Agency’s effectiveness in its role as a disseminator of information on environmental issues.

In 2005 Europublic was selected for the award of a framework contract 2005-2007 on the 'Effectiveness Evaluation of Selected EEA Products and Services through Polling Surveys'.

For Europeans, a healthy environment is as important to their quality of life as the state of the economy and social factors, according to a new Eurobarometer survey. The environmental issues that citizens worry most about are water pollution, man-made disasters, climate change, air pollution and chemicals. The survey is also the first to examine attitudes towards the environment across the enlarged EU-25.

The EEA is an international workplace and recruits staff from all member countries. In addition to its own staff a number of national experts from the member countries work at the Agency for a limited period. All member countries, in addition to the European Commission and the European Parliament are represented in the EEA's Management Board who regularly meets in Copenhagen.
