Creating a Level Playing Field

European Campaign Against Discrimination

The European Union is engaged in a major effort to ensure the application of equal treatment in hiring, employment and training for all persons regardless of race or origin, religion or belief, sexual orientation, disability or age. The aim is to encourage workforce diversity at a time of increasingly open labour markets. This awareness campaign - running under the slogan
For Diversity. Against Discrimination - has been running since 2003.

At the end of 2004, the five-year EU information campaign For Diversity. Against Discrimination looked back on another impressive year, bringing together in national working groups a total of 575 government and non-government organisations in the 25 Member States who have joined forces to fight discrimination and to promote the positive benefits of diversity in an enlarged, more diverse European Union.
